1. Calculate Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) & Apply Energy Intensity Label

Perform calculations required for EER determination and understand how to apply, maintain, and display Energy Intensity Labels in compliance with EECA.

1. Develop and Structure an Energy Management System (EnMS)

Build the baseline framework of an EnMS—including policy, roles, processes, monitoring structure, and documentation—aligned with EECA and ISO 50001 principles.

COURSE OUTLINE

1. Understanding Energy Resources & Energy Conversion

This module provides an operational view of how energy is supplied, transformed, and consumed in industrial and commercial facilities. Participants will map out their own energy flows to identify major loads, opportunities, and performance gaps. This activity sets the foundation for accurate measurement and reporting.

2. Identifying Applicability of Energy Consumer & PIC of Building

Participants will assess their own data, energy consumption, gross floor area (GFA), building type, to determine their organization’s category under EECA. The session clarifies mandatory obligations and distinguishes between Energy Consumer and PIC-of-Building requirements to ensure correct compliance interpretation.

3. Determining Boundary of Energy Consumption & Energy Consumer

This module guides participants through defining operational and reporting boundaries. Using structured templates, participants will identify where energy is consumed, how it should be grouped, and what boundaries must be reported under EECA. This supports accurate Energy Efficiency & Conservation Report (EECR) submissions.

4. Ascertaining Building Classification & Energy Intensity Performance

Participants will categorize their buildings according to EECA definitions and calculate Energy Intensity Performance. This step enables organizations to benchmark performance, identify deviations, and prepare required annual documentation.

5. Calculating EER & Applying Energy Intensity Label

Participants will compute the Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) for buildings and operational units. The module also covers how to use and display the Energy Intensity Label, restrictions on alterations, and compliance implications related to improper labeling.

6. Setting Up the Energy Management System (EnMS)
